The symbols used throughout this site will help you to select your holiday at a glance.

Property reference
This reference number identifies the properties and should be quoted when checking availability as well as on all correspondence. In the example shown, the letter indicates the area, followed by a number which identifies the precise property. You can search by property reference number from our home page which you can return to at any time by clicking on the Recommended Cottages logo in the top left hand corner of the screen.

Sleeping Capacity
Beside each property you will find this symbol which indicates the
number of people the property can accommodate.

Bedrooms
This shows the number of bedrooms in each property.

Prices
Click here to view our price lists and read off the price group indicated by a letter, against your holiday date.

Map Location
Maps of all areas covered by the Recommended Cottage Holidays website and brochure can be viewed by clicking the relevant map reference. The reference number with each property will help you locate the position. Simply cross reference the number and letter using the grid on the map, for your convenience the map reference on each property acts as a link to the relevant regional map.

Holiday or Short Break at any time!
Some properties will book short breaks all year at any time.
Look for properties featuring . All short break restrictions as shown on our price list can be disregarded. Great news if you want to book in advance but can't spare a full week.

Pets Welcome - FREE OF CHARGE!
You are welcome to take pets with you to properties displaying the symbol opposite. The number above indicates the maximum number of pets you are allowed to take. At least one pet is free of charge. Some properties charge for additional pets. Where a charge is made it is only £10 per pet per booking. Pets should, however, be house-trained, kept under control at all times, not allowed on the furniture or upstairs and never left unattended in the property, the maximum permitted being three.

Wherever a property displays this symbol, over the Easter period, bookings may be made from Thursday to Thursday.

Tourism Council "Quality Assurance"
Some of our properties have been inspected by the Tourism Council and these are clearly marked in the brochure.These properties have been inspected for quality, comfort, space, facilities and cleanliness.
